Hi there. I am a US Citizen on a Bridging Visa, waiting to hear back about my Temporary Visa (the wait time can be a max of 3 years to hear back about me being approved).

I am allowed to work remote or within Australia 6 months max per employer. My current situation is that I freelance remote for countries outside of Australia, and pay Australian taxes on my foreign-earned income. Have confirmed that this is all legal.

I was wondering if I am also allowed to open and contribute to an AU Super while I am on a Bridging Visa? And is it true that I can also receive a tax deduction because I contribute to my own Super?Cheers!

Hi @LouLou203,

If you meet the eligibility criteria you can receive super on a bridging visa.

Check out the eligibility information on our website. It's well worth a read.

All the very best.
