How can I get my name changed in the myGov front end.? In myGov my first name is shortened (for some reason). My first name was also shortened in the ATO, however my full and correct name was in the ATO under "previous name". I have updated and corrected my name in the ATO, but myGov still displays my shortened first name. I can't link to Medicare, so I can't get my COVID vaccination confirmation, and I presume I won't be able to link to Centrelink (I wish to apply for a Health Card).

I posted hardcopy ID documents (sighted by a JP) to the ATO @ PO Box 9990, to hopefully get myGov corrected.

How do I get my name corrected in myGov?

Hiya @Vincent51,

Your MyGov account should automatically update when your ATO account has updated. If that hasn't happened, you can force a name update by unlinking all of your services and starting again. If your name is correct with the ATO, link that first and it should correct the error for you.
