I want to voluntarily pay my HELP loan however, on ATO the balance still shows my starting balance even thought money has been taken off each payslip. How do I find out what the most current balance is? When I select "voluntary repayment", I have to pay the full balance which is approx 40k, however I'm sure some have been paid off from work.

Hi @ct1234,

Your myGov account lists your most recent HELP debt balance. It won't show employer amounts they've withheld until you lodge your tax return and we determine if a compulsory repayment is required.

In the meantime you can definitely make voluntary repayments. Take a read of our community article about Paying my HECS HELP student loan for information and links to our website.
