I brought shares in a company in 2019 for $2000 and sold them in early 2022 and received $1000. How do I claim the loss? ATO online only has table for Capital GAINS.

Hi @Mike44,

If your completing myTax online, you'll need to select you had capital gains and losses, then at section 3 ADD+ information at this section. There is a capital loss carried forward label. You don't need to include a minus symbol as the label itself is for a loss amount. Once you save and continue it will be recorded on your return. As @Bruce4Tax advised, it can be carried forward till you have a capital gain to offset it against.
