My partner and I applied for a job that was advertised as a "couple preferred". They told us that the role is seen one wage. How would this work from a tax perspective? Is there a special way that couples are paid/taxed?

Hi @Hubcap_Queen,

Generally, when it comes to employment you provide the employer your TFN for them to withhold tax. You do not get taxed together as there is no joint tax return you would complete as individuals.

When starting a new job you would complete a TFN declaration.
