Hi Team,

I am trying to figure out why is my tax so different or il say so much less then my return last year, is the gross amount showing as reported on the ATO link meant to be the same as the annual showing on my payslip?

where would I find the the tax with held on my payslip?

Hi @just---asking

Sure, let's start with the Tax withholding.

It depends as every payslip is different, but it should show 'somewhere' on it.

Down the bottom (left or right) there is also usually a 'Summary' section of year-to-date Totals.

Total Gross, Tax, Superannuation.

What it shows in the ATO pre-fill as income, is what's reported to us by your employer at the end of the year.

If the amounts are different you may need to talk to them about it.
