How can I submit a tax return on behalf of my elderly mother? She receives no pension, just interest income on bank deposits, and has no deductions to claim other than the cost of having a return prepared. She is being ripped off by her accountant for a very simple tax return. I have an Enduring Power of Attorney for her.

Hiya @MarkG_59

There are two things that need to happen to submit a tax return for someone else, when you're their POA.

First thing is to make sure you have told us you are their POA. If you have a look at this similar post I have popped in instructions on how to do that.

The next step is just to lodge. You won't be able to do it online at this stage, but you can lodge a paper return on her behalf rather than going through a tax agent.
