Hi,

Can you claim GST paid on a Creditable Importation if the overseas suppliers is not registered for Tax in Australia?

I find the information provided in the 2 links a little conflicting.

https://www.ato.gov.au/business/gst/claiming-gst-credits/when-you-can-claim-a-gst-credit/

https://www.ato.gov.au/Business/GST/In-detail/Rules-for-specific-transactions/International-transact...

Thanks

If you are registered for GST, you claim GST credits on a creditable importation on the return you lodge for the tax period in which you pay the GST on that importation. Sam's Sporting Goods (SSG) is a sporting goods wholesaler and is registered for GST.
