Hi there,

I am not currently registered for GST. If I register for GST now will I need to pay GST on all previous income earnt this financial year or just the period between registration and EOFY?

Hope that makes sense, let me know if it doesn't!

Ben

You can backdate your GST registration if you needed to be registered before now (e.g. you're over the threshold)

If you register now and select to report quuarterly you will report and pay GST from now onwards starting on your next BAS (Jan - March).

Theres some information on the website that might help you https://www.ato.gov.au/Business/GST/Registering-for-GST/
