I am helping a club overseas buy goods in Australia. The invoices have the name of the overseas company on them. The goods are being sent to an address that is packing a container that goes to that country (they are not a freight company). The company called the ATO and they were advised that as the company was shipping it to an Australian address, GST has to be paid and that the recipient can reclaim the GST back... sooooo my question is how do I reclaim the GST?

Hiya @Xporta,

You can claim a GST credit if the GST charge was a business expense. You just need to be a GST registered business and claim the credit on an activity statement.
