Hi

We have a client who has a permanent part-time employee who took unpaid leave for a number of weeks commencing prior to Mar 1, 2020.

As he was on on unpaid leave, he was not paid JobKeeper payments for FN01 & FN02.

The employee has subsequently returned performing some duties with effect from FN03.

My question is ... can the employer commence paying and claiming Jobkeeper payments from FN03 for him?

Thanks in advance.

Hi @Dani1

Thanks for reaching out to us.

You can claim the JobKeeper Payment for an employee for a particular fortnight if they meet all the eligible employee requirements for that fortnight. Refer to our website for more information.

If they meet all the requirements for JobKeeper fortnight 3 and every fortnight thereafter, you can pay them at least $1,500 (before tax) per fortnight and be reimbursed in the following month.

Good luck with it all.

They can but the employee technically should have been enrolled from Fortnight FN1.
