Job Keeper Multiple Employers

My wife is a Casual who has worked casually for two employers and has done so for over 12months. One employer, her main employer had no work for her once the lockdown kicked off and her second employer she has continued to do 20hours a week except for 1week of downtime. Both employers were not very proactive with the Job Keeper information to employees and it was unclear if my wife would end up receiving the Job Keeper from either employer. So once they sent out the Job Keeper form we quickly filled it out for both employers (not knowing she wasn't allowed to apply from two employers, we were very aware you couldn’t receive it from two employers) because they couldn’t give us a confirmation if she was going to receive the Payment from either. On the 30th of April she received a Job Keeper payment payment from her main employer who she wasn’t working with at the time. So that night we notified the second employer straight away to say she was receiving the Job Keeper from her main employer. The next day she received a payment for the 1week of downtime she had from her second employer. She then received a reply from her second employer saying we’ve cancelled the Job Keeper for you however the previous fortnight’s wages might need to be corrected by the ATO at tax time. Which makes us think they’ve claimed the Job Keeper for her on the weeks downtime and the following two weeks wages which she actually worked 20hours a week for. She has done everything possible with the second employer to clear it up but we’re worried we will have to pay back to the ATO the $1500 (fortnight from second employer) plus the extra week of downtime which doesn’t seem fair because her employer will essentially have had her working for free because they’ll claim the job keeper but then she’ll have to pay it back.
Please confirm your thoughts in regards to our situation.
Thanks

Hi @ShaneKaye

The JobKeeper payment is a payment we make to eligible employers as reimbursement after they have paid their eligible employees. Therefore we have the JobKeeper payment relationship with the employer, not the employee.
Your wife will need to talk to her second employer about her situation, even though she has already attempted this. However if the second employer has made a mistake in claiming your wife they will need to contact on 13 28 66 and select option 7.

Hope this information helps.
