I understand that only Employees who were employed on 1st March are eligible for Job Keeper.  What happens when the person in that role is not performing?  ie. not working the hours they were meant to (or even a fraction of), non-responsive, etc.  ie. they are being paid full Job Keeper payment but not actually working.  If our employee count doesn't increase, can we replace this employee with a new person to fill the role?

Hi @moko37,

Sorry to hear you are having staffing problems.

While you are certainly entitled to take action against employees who are not performing, refusing to work and so on, our best advice would be for you to have a look at this information from Fair Work on ending employment during coronavirus.

You do also need to be aware that under current guidelines, if you employ someone new as a replacement, you would not be able to claim JobKeeper to assist you in paying for that new person.
