An emolyee worked for almost three years as a Barista in our cafe till Dec 2019. As he was doing university study and his availabilty were not maching with our requrements he stopped working with us. He worked with another employer from Jan to March 2020 on casual basis. Now he is availble to work with us few days a week. He is still on our book as his last payroll processed in first week of Jan 2020.
Will ATO consider him eligible for jobkeeper benefit if we rehire him?
As an employer I am happy to rehire him as we couldn't find other Barista to replace him. I am also happy to back pay him for the first fortnight.
