Worried you’re missing part of your refund? Remember, the low and middle income tax offset isn’t a refund on its own – it’s used to offset (or reduce) the amount of tax you pay. The offset amount you may be entitled to is automatically applied and could range between $255-$1080, depending on things like your taxable income and how much tax you’ve paid.

I have an employee who has been receiving jobkeeper since March.  I wish to dismiss this employee, do I still need to continue to claim and pay them the jobkeeper payment after they have completed their notice period?

Hi @Brad3

@SM2304 is correct. Employers can dismiss staff who are receiving jobKeeper. The employer will cease claiming a jobKeeper payment for the staff member. The alteration in the number of staff being claimed for is made on the monthly jobKeeper business declaration. For further information see a similar post Jobkeeper Dismissal;  and there is another post addressed to an employer Jobkeeper and dismissal.

No, not once they are dismissed as the whole point of Jobkeeper is to preserve jobs
