What happens if you didnt register for GST before you hit the $75,000 threshold?

Thanks for your post.

 

If you're not registered for GST, you should be checking each month to see if you've reached the $75,000 threshold, or are likely to exceed it. Once you work out that you need to registered, your need to do it within 21 days.

 

If you don't register when you should have, you may need to pay GST on sales since the date you should have registered, even if you didn't include GST in the price of those sales. In other words, your GST registration can be backdated.
