I am a contractor paid my invoicing an employer. I’m registered for GST. I currently have a new contract whereby I’m paid a fixed meal allowance per day.

When I invoice, I assume I don’t include GST on this component, as the assumption would be that GST is already factored in with what I’m spending on meals, and this is effectively a reimbursement rather than a fee on my part. Does this sound correct?

Apologies if I haven’t explained it very well!

No, you would charge GST on the full amount. It can't be a reimbursement as you are not an employee
