Hello, I am recieve a salary for my work from a small family business. Out of my own pocket, I pay for a serviced office (occasionally for CBD meetings) and a virtual receptionist to take my sales calls and book meetings. My employer has not and will not reimburse these amounts. Are these expenses tax deductible in my personal tax return?

Hi @amgbrabus

Welcome to our Community!

Generally, you'll be able claim your office expenses, if:

  • you spent the money on the expenses yourself and weren't reimbursed
  • it must directly relate to earning your income
  • you must have a record to prove it.

You can find information on claiming home office expenses on our website and check out deductions you can claim if you're in a specific industry

Thanks, JodieH.
