Hi,
Just curious. I went into check the progress of mine and partners tax returns and both of ours say balancing in progress. However when you go into to check our original tax return by our tax agent has been cancelled. This is both of ours. The original refunds we were quoted have been cancelled. Then it seems a new one has been lodged for both of us and the refund is considerably less. This has never happened before. What is going on?

Hi @Lauz

As your income tax return progresses, the different states you describe can be a normal part of  processing. Generally a tax return lodged electronically will take around two weeks to process. If your return is still within these time frames, it is probably normal and your returns could change status a few times before they finalise.

When end your return is finalised you will receive a notice of assessment that will give you details of the outcome of your return.

You mentioned you used a tax agent so they can provide advice if you are concerned any details on your return have changed.
