Worried you’re missing part of your refund? Remember, the low and middle income tax offset isn’t a refund on its own – it’s used to offset (or reduce) the amount of tax you pay. The offset amount you may be entitled to is automatically applied and could range between $255-$1080, depending on things like your taxable income and how much tax you’ve paid.

We’re taking the opportunity to perform system maintenance this long weekend. Key services like our portals, online services and website (ato.gov.au) may be unavailable between 11.30pm AEDT Thursday 25 January until 7.00am AEDT Monday 29 January.
Our contact centres will also be closed over the long weekend from 6.00pm Thursday evening.
You’ll still be able to ask questions and share your experiences here on the Community, but links to ato.gov.au might be unavailable or slow to respond. Other services like our online DASP and IAR application forms may also be offline. We appreciate your patience and understanding and apologise for any inconvenience this might cause.
If you like to plan ahead, you can register for email alerts on upcoming system maintenance by visiting ato.gov.au/SystemMaintenance. Please note this page will be unavailable while work on our website is underway.
