Hi,We import digital products from overseas, and re-sell in Australia.

Do we need to pay the GST on the digital product based on the purchasing price if the supplier's invoice doesn't show the GST amount?

Thank you!

Hi @Disnat,

Welcome to our Community!

If you're a business that imports digital products to Australian customers, GST doesn't apply if your business is registered for GST in Australia. For the supplier not to charge you GST, you will need to:

  • give them your Australian business number (ABN), and
  • state that you are registered for GST.

You can find information and an example about GST on imported services and digital productions for Australian business on our website. Alternatively, if you have further questions you can phone us on 13 28 66 between 8am - 6pm, Monday to Friday.

Thanks, JodieH.
