Hi Team,

We would like to seek your input/clarification with respect to changes of employee personal information of Address, our understanding is that the employer have the following option to report the changes

  1. a) subsequent pay event
  2. b) via an update event
  3. c) or if there are no payment till the end of fiscal year, then at the end of the fiscal year submit the changes to personal information along with final event indicator via an update event.
  4. Is it mandatory to submit corrections to personal data as soon as possible ?

Appreciate if you could confirm, is there any other option an employer can submit the personal information changes of employee. Does the employee has an option to update the address details via myGov directly.

Hi @ShankarN,

Thanks for your patience whilst we confirmed information with a specialist area.

An employer can use Options 1 to 3 to report a change to their employee's address but it will not update the employee records in the ATO database. This would require the employee to make the change themselves via myGov or by contacting us on 13 28 61.

Hope this helps, JodieH.
