Hi All,

Just wondering which tax method is to be used, when back payments are to be made to an employee, going back several years. It's for compensation payments (not lump sum) after the employee was successful at the Tribunal where the employer must pay his back salary. This is from 2013 to present. Thanks in advance Smiley Happy

Hi @Backpayment

Welcome to our Community!

We can provide general information here and back payments can be rather complex and compensation payments can be made up of a number of elements.

You can find general information about withholding from compensation, sickness and accident payments on our website. Alternatively, you can request a Live chat from 3pm - 8pm, Monday to Friday and 10am - 2pm, Saturday or an after-hours call back available from 6pm to 8am, Monday to Thursday except public holidays.

Thanks, JodieH.
