Did you know you can update your personal information online without having to call us?

How can you update your details online with the ATO?

To update your details online, just simply log in to your myGov account and access ATO online services where you can update your:

• name
• address, phone number, email address and authorised contacts
• date of birth record
• bank details

If you don’t already have an account, you can create a myGov account and link it to ATO services.

What documentation will you need to provide?

If you’re updating your name, you’ll need at least one of the following:

• Australian full birth certificate – not an extract
• Australian marriage certificate
• Australian change of name certificate.

If you’re updating your date of birth record, you’ll need at least one of the following:

• Australian full birth certificate – not an extract
• Australian passport
• Australian citizenship certificate
• Australian visa
• Australian driver's licence or learner’s permit.
