I am considering taking up a hobby

I am considering taking up a hobby of training children in a sport. The hobby would require my time on weekends and some early mornings before my usual job starts. The club has offered my $20,000 for my efforts but insists on deducting personal tax as if I was a part time employee

@MOSSIE

This is not a hobby and therefore would be taxed as such.

You then would be able to claim deductons against it.

Hi @MOSSIE

I agree with @macfanboy , this sounds like employment and not a hobby.
