Mistake when filling the tfn form (tax threshold)

Hi everyone!

I hope this hasn't been asked by anyone as I couldn't find it in the other threads. 😁

I got a new job and as I was filling up the tfn form I must have made a mistake by ticking "no" on question 5 (claiming tax-free threshold from this payer).

As a result I got more taxes deducted on the first 2 weeks of pay.

I noticed and notified the account who changed it for me.

Now, will I be able to get that back somehow or will ot be lost?

Btw I don't have a second job and I'm australian resident for tax purposes.

Thanks heaps in advance! πŸ™

Hi Giuseppe,

That's good that your have corrected this error.

No it won't be lost all your PAYG tax withholding gets transfered to the ATO and will be there till you finalise your tax return at the end of the financial year. It won't be lost.

Hope this help .

Regards,
