Hi there

I'm a NZ citizen intending to make a move to Aus later in the year for family reasons - but for various reasons am hoping to stay employed by the business I work for in NZ.  I will be in Aus permanently - not commuting (though of course will do holidays etc in NZ).  I'm an employee - and I assume my employer will continue to deduct my tax, student loan, superannuation etc as per usual.

Is this possible?  From what I understand, I would need to make up any tax shortfall in Aus?

Cheers

@NewGirl it depends if you are an Australian resident. It sounds like you would be.

There is information here that might help you decide.

If you are then you need to report your world wide income - this would be foreign income.

Info on this page may help you work it out.
