I am currently a non-resident / foreign taxpayer & am planning to return to Australia permanently in Januiary 2021.

Will my income earned overseas from July 1 to December 31 2020 be calculated & subject to tax for the whole of period of the 2020-21 tax year?

That is, when I become a resident tax payer, will my tax liability be pro-rated &/or subject to only income earned from Jan 1 to June 30, 2021 in the 2020-21 tax year?

Hi @johnap

When you complete your 2020-2021 income tax return it will ask you how long you were a non resident for so we can calculate your tax return correctly.
