Hi, I have filled in all the info of medicare and private health insurance for this year's tax return. The assessment came back without private health insurance rebate. Why is that?

Hi @philiptsui,

Thanks for getting in touch.

@SM2304 is correct, it is possible that the rebate has already been applied when you pay the instalments to your insurance company. If the rebate isn't applied when you make payment to your insurance we will calculate your private health insurance rebate when you lodge your tax return. This rebate is a refundable tax offset.

All the best,

The most likely reason is that you have already claimed the rebate from your private health fund
