 Hi, what are medicare levy rates for low income earners if taxable income is between $22398 and $27997.?

You pay 10% of the amount by which your taxable income exceeds $22,398.

If your taxable income is $26,008, your Medicare levy is $361 i.e ($26,008- $22,398) x 10%.

That is for a single person.

 

For 2018–19, your Medicare levy is reduced if your family taxable income is equal to or less than $47,242 ($61,630 if you are entitled to the seniors and pensioners tax offset) plus $4,339 for each dependent child you have.
