Have been asked to help a friend on a catering for a forthcoming event.  Will I need to pay tax on any potential payments received ?

If you are being 'paid' to 'work' then this income needs to be added to your total income for the year and taxed accordingly.

I would report it at item 14.

Hi @jps,

@macfanboy is correct, you will need to include any income you earn from this job in your tax return.

We have an article about tax on a second job that should help you understand how it all works.

Thanks, @NateH
