Hi @ISIM

I appreciate you taking the time to provide your feedback. We are committed to supporting business through the transition to STP and to do what we can to help with compliance.

One of our key priorities has been to ensure STP is simple and not costly, particularly for smaller employers.

The aim of reporting through STP is to report employee’s tax and super information to us each time a payroll event occurs. Our systems will match the STP information to our employer and employee records. If your employees have a myGov account linked to ATO online services, they'll be able to see their year-to-date tax and super information online. This removes the need for you to provide individual payment summaries to your employees and a payment summary annual report at the end of the financial year.

Simple, no-cost, low cost reporting solutions, are available to micro employers (with 1-4 employees) and software providers have committed to providing these alternate solutions at either no cost or for $10 or less per month. More information about the simple, no-cost, low-cost STP solutions can be found on our website. If you start reporting and find the software you're using no longer fits your business needs, you may change to another solution at any time (subject to contractual arrangements). For more information see Changing payroll solutions during a financial year.

If you need help to transition to STP there are a number of concessional reporting options that may assist you. Eligibility for these depends on your circumstances.

If you feel that you need more time to get ready for STP you can apply for a deferral.

Understanding how STP is working for you is important to us and we have sent you an email to see how we can help further.
