Hi,

Good day!

I'm a developer for an organization given a task to design a software that will deliver payroll reporting data to ATO electronically specifically for Single Touch Payroll matters.

My questions are:

  1. To whom will I send it like is there a URL/Address endpoint that I need to use to send this messages to through SOAP/RESTful means?

       2. What is the protocol/platform used for sending this payroll report data? Is it SOAP? Is it RESTful services/ Web API?

         3. What is the format of the Request? Is it JSON or XML?And the properties of the object that I need to send?

Thanks,
Efren

You will need to make contact with the Australia Taxation Office

http://www.sbr.gov.au/software-developers

SBR Service Desk on 1300-488-231 or email SBRServiceDesk@sbr.gov.au.

or the ATO Digital Partnership Office

https://softwaredevelopers.ato.gov.au/

You will need to comply with their requirements in a number of ways.   It is not as simple as uploading a file

Hi @efren

The SBR Service Desk number is 1300 488 231 (our filtering thought it was a TFN and scrubbed it from the reply by @Matthew-at-ICB.

Efren, you need to register as a software developer on SBR: http://www.sbr.gov.au/software-developers/what-can-i-expect

There are extensive details here about developing the ebMS3/AS4 profile using XML format. You must also be congisant of the ATO Operational Framework requirements and costs: https://softwaredevelopers.ato.gov.au/operational_framework.

There are alternative options to building your own solution: you can partner with a Sending Service Provider that will address the requirements for you.

Also, if you are only looking at this matter now, then your organisation either has a deferral in place, or is not yet required to report via STP? There are LOTS of details to investigate.
