Deduction for Laptop - previously only used for personal use

I started working as a sole trader, providing contracted services, in 2019-20. I'm using a laptop which I bought for personal use in 2013. I only started using it for work purposes in 2019.

Can I deduct any amount for depreciation this year by using an "opening adjustable value"? Or would the laptop be considered fully depreciated already since the ATO puts laptops' effective life at only 2 years? Thanks!

Under the ATO's determined effective life you wouldn't be able to claim anything.

There is some info on this page about determining the effective life yourself https://www.ato.gov.au/Business/Depreciation-and-capital-expenses-and-allowances/General-depreciatio... which may allow you to claim something
