My husbands employer did take hecs repayments from his pay from feb 2019 - end of financial year. He didn’t notice 🤦🏻‍♀️.
I’m wondering if these repayments will be deducted from his tax return or if we will be sent a bill once we lodge his tax return?

Hi @Rachael2304,

Thanks for your question!

This knowledge base article may be of assistance. If your husband meets the repayment income threshold for HELP, then a compulsory repayment will be raised on his Notice of Assessment. If he has not had enough tax withheld to cover this repayment, then he may end up with a tax debt.

Hope this helps.
