hi Teams,
my client's 2017 tax return had been lodged in 2017 year. I want to do amend for 2017 tax return as rental income was missing in this year. Can I just do the amendment and lodge to the ATO or the ATO wont accept the 2017 amendment as it was out of 2 year period since the lodgment date in 2017 ?? please advise. thanks
Hi @KYLE2
If you see Time limits on income tax amendments it outlines the options quite well. I suspect this one may fall to an objection.

If you are outside the amendment period, and it was an honest mistake, then just move on.
It can only be re-opened if there was fraud.
