How can I claim the Medicare Levy Exemption if "A letter from DHS is not sufficient"?

Hi ATO Community,

 

I've read this page and I think I can exempt my medicare levy.

At the last there's sentence "Note: A letter from DHS is not sufficient.". This is interesting, if it's not sufficient, then should it tell us what to do to be "sufficient"? I can't find any more details about how to be "sufficient" for the exemption.

You are required to get a Medicare Entitlement Statement from Department of Human Services if meet the second category (foreign resident) for the Medicare levy exemption - application can be found here https://www.humanservices.gov.au/individuals/services/medicare/medicare-entitlement-statement
