How do I show tax-exempt disability support pension in myTax return

Hi

The DSP is tax-exempt and hasn't pre-filled and I can't work out how to show it so it doesn't add through to assessable income.  I entered it in 'Australian Government payments such as pensions and carer payments' but this seems to add through as assessable income.

If anyone can point me in the right direction, I would be very grateful.

Cheers

Hi @DavidIsbel

Happy to point you in the right direction.

Tax-free disability support pensions need to be declared at the "Income tests" section of the online tax return. The first option is "Tax-free government pensions or benefits" and this is the field that you need to enter the amount in.

I hope this information is useful to you! All the best.
