Worried you’re missing part of your refund? Remember, the low and middle income tax offset isn’t a refund on its own – it’s used to offset (or reduce) the amount of tax you pay. The offset amount you may be entitled to is automatically applied and could range between $255-$1080, depending on things like your taxable income and how much tax you’ve paid.

Hi

I'm being told I have an overdue lodgement for 2002-03. I cannot recall whether I was working during this time, and even if I could I wouldn't have an income statement to complete the return.

Would it be ok to report that a tax return is not necessary for this period, or is there a way to retrieve an old income statement?

Kind regards

Hi @JCJ,

If you have any income during 2002-03 and tax has been withheld you can't lodge the return not necessary. If you needed copies of your income statements or payment summaries you can find instructions on how to get copies of your tax documents on our website.

Thanks.
