      <description>&lt;P&gt;At the most recent Tax Professionals Webinar, it was mentioned that you could purchase a phone for under $100 that could be used to download&amp;nbsp; and operate the mygovid app using a wi-fi connection with no data plan required.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I have been unable to source a phone this cheap that has a full version of Android.&amp;nbsp; The all have the Go version which cannot be used.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Every salesperson I have encountered at various stores does not understand the difference in operating systems.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Could someone please provide me with a list of smart phones under $100 that can be used for mygovid.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;These are valid issues and the solution is obvious to everyone but the ATO. We should have had the ability from day 1 to change the email address. But I suspect that the ATO have designed the system where the email address is the unique identifier and thus will have great difficultly in changing things to allow for a change. How this could have been allowed by the various committees is beyond comprehension. Have they never heard of people changing employment, changing ISPs or email providers, had their mailbox hacked, been stalked, bullied, divorced or experiecned DV? Amazing lack of real world critical analysis of a system that is being forced on all taxpayers.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Another valid question is 'what if you set them up using a busiess email and you leave the business.'?&amp;nbsp; No more access to personal data?&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;A lot of staff here only have a myGovID for work purposes to date and many are not keen (nor should they have to) to divulge personal email addresses for this purpose.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;All our AUSKeys were setup using work email addresses and come across when importing them in RAM.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Email addresses are &lt;U&gt;not&lt;/U&gt; unique identifiers! They were never indented to be so and should not be used as such.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Just confirming that as MelissaC has said, once we matched the exact name that the employee had registered with their MyGovID the authorisation process worked.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;The Auskey migration didn't work for most employees as they were discrepancies in the their full names.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;I have a client that is employed as a AIN (assistant in nursing) her daily duties in a aged care facility are:&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Daily living, patient observations, taking blood pressure results and recording them, wound dressing. My client is under taking a degree is nursing where she has claimed on her tax return her fees that have been paid. The file is under ATO review, I have been speaking to the ATO employee regarding this and they have advised that is not related to her employment.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I have emailed the ATO regarding a brief description on the occupation and daily duties, as well as section 8-1 as my client is studying her degree in nursing to increase her knowledge and skill in her current employement, as well as expected increase in income with her current employer.       <description>&lt;P&gt;A number of staff members are receiving this error when trying to link their myGovID account to the Tax Agent in RAM.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;The details they used to set up their myGovID's have been checked and double checked, middle names have been added to RAM and removed from RAM, accounts have been removed and new accounts created but they are still not able to link to the business.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Is there something I haven't tried?&lt;/P&gt;</description>

&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;

&lt;P&gt;When you revoke a machine credential, it doesn’t remove the keystore file. This is the file which is actually stored on your computer. The reason you are getting the password mismatch error is because you still have a keystore file at the location identified in the keystore path when you go to create your new machine credential.&lt;/P&gt;

&lt;P&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;
The easiest way to resolve this, is to go into RAM, create a new machine credential, and then change the name of the keystore file in the ‘Keystore path’ field. When you go to create a machine credential, you only need to add or remove a character from the keystore name. The default is ‘keystore-new.xml’. Just change this to ‘keystore-new1.xml’ and then you can set a new keystore password.&lt;/P&gt;

&lt;P&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;
What you should do next is locate your old keystore file (for which you have forgotten the password) and delete it. This will save any confusion for when you create a new keystore file. The best way to do this is to note the keystore path (when you create a new machine credential) and then locate the keystore file and delete it.&lt;/P&gt;

The owner of the credential should create a unique password.  &lt;LI&gt;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; Ensure your client’s device ‘language’ settings are set to English (Australia).&lt;/LI&gt;
&lt;/UL&gt;

&lt;P&gt;Once these settings are confirmed clear the cache and data as follows:&lt;/P&gt;

&lt;UL&gt;
 &lt;LI&gt;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; Open phone Settings&lt;/LI&gt;
 &lt;LI&gt;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; Select Apps&lt;/LI&gt;

Contact the person who authorised you. Error code: REB.BR.0047&lt;/EM&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I already added a few authorsation code into my login, and this is the only issue i had and unable to add. I also checked my MyGovID status and my identity strenth is Standard.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I needed to add this business into my login as soon as possible. &lt;P&gt;We had&amp;nbsp;a system issue which caused 2019 SMSF returns with a&amp;nbsp;concessional due date of 15 May 2020&amp;nbsp;to be incorrectly given the due date of 31 October 2019. In order to fix this issue,&amp;nbsp;any returns that weren't lodged yet were given a new&amp;nbsp;due date of 18 May 2020 (the next business day).&lt;/P&gt;

&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;

&lt;P&gt;In other words, we are well aware of it and you don't need to send an online message to us about this. For any of your SMSF clients that have this due date, it is correct.&lt;/P&gt;

I was advised an ATO staff member would telephone me I have not received a call&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

&lt;P&gt;To make the sign-in process for myGovID fast and simple you can select the ‘remember me’ option when you log in for the first time. As long as you are using the same browser you won’t need to enter your email each time you sign in. By choosing to use the ‘remember me’ option you also won’t need to type the four-digit access code into your phone, you will receive a notification, then all you need to do is click accept and you’ll be logged in.&lt;/P&gt;

The custodian of the credential will typically be the machine credential administrator (MCA) who created it. The custodian is responsible for the appropriate use and safeguarding of the credential.&lt;/P&gt;

&lt;P&gt;If you require the ability to record or track who is using a machine credential, the best option is to incorporate the name of the user into the credential name. Please be aware that this will not create an individual user claim, but will enable you to track who is using it (where a machine credential is only being used by a single user).&lt;/P&gt;

&lt;P&gt;If a user has multiple tax practices linked to their myGovID, then they can only access one practice at one time. However, they can easily swap between practices (without having to logout) by selecting the other Agent Numbers they have access to within the Online Services for Agents product.&lt;/P&gt;

I have attempted to transfer an Auskey users authority via RAM so they can access the ATO online services for our clients. I have one staff member that is unable to complete the migration as when&amp;nbsp; they receive and enter the authorisation code they have the following error code: REB.BR.0074.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Can you please advise the issue this code represents and how to rectify so that the staff meember can be authorised for our tax practice?&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Thanks&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;In regard to only needing 2 forms of ID to set up a standard ID that is fine. As a BAS Agent I believe we need a higher level to access client records. I am of the understanding that you will be able to see client records from the date you register forward but I will not be able to see any past history. Is this correct? As this is the information that my&amp;nbsp; accounting association mentioned in their training video on the subject. If this is the case then I am sure there will be a few problems.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

&lt;P&gt;When a client calls, our staff member will:&lt;BR /&gt;•&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;Complete proof of identity check on the caller&lt;BR /&gt;•&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;Check the ABN of the business that needs to be linked&lt;BR /&gt;•&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;Complete checks to confirm their association to the business&amp;nbsp; in registers such as the ABR or ASIC&lt;BR /&gt;•&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;Link the business which will trigger an authorisation request containing a code that needs to be accepted in RAM within 7 days&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Once they have logged into RAM with their myGovID and accepted the request, the link is complete.&lt;/P&gt;

&lt;P&gt;To setup a Standard identity to access ATO online services, you only need to verify two of the following four identity documents:&lt;/P&gt;

&lt;LI&gt;Medicare card&lt;/LI&gt;
&lt;LI&gt;birth certificate&lt;/LI&gt;
&lt;LI&gt;passport&lt;/LI&gt;

&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;The option to increase your identity strength beyond Standard is not available, however this function will be added in late 2020. Currently none of the government services which use myGovID require a higher identity strength.&lt;/P&gt;

&lt;P&gt;In future releases of myGovID additional documents will be available such as:&lt;/P&gt;

Your password should have a minimum of ten characters and include at least one upper case letter, lower case letter, number and special character. You’ll also need to provide this password within your software either when setting up or authenticating.&lt;/P&gt;

&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;

&lt;P&gt;If you forget your keystore password after you’ve created the machine credential, you cannot reset it. You’ll need to create a new machine credential (via RAM) and specify a different keystore path. This will let you to create a new keystore with a new password.&lt;/P&gt;

&lt;P&gt;You may wish to cancel (or revoke) the existing machine credential, for which you have forgotten the keystore password.&lt;/P&gt;

Rather than conduct robust internal testing, releasing it to the public allows others to discover problems for them to solve later. I suspect it allows the heads of the ATO's tech departments / project managers, to say they have "delivered" on the project (either early or on time) without having conducted sufficient testing.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Based on the feedback, reviews and discussions I'm reading (from users / other tax professionals) - it sounds like the myGovID was poorly designed, implemented and communicated. The design needs to cater for variations and the realities of how professional services firms operate.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;A number of practical and security considerations raised appear to have been ignored / thrown out the window - unsurprising given the frequent practice of assigning work to the lowest bidder. Whilst development on the fly and an "agile" approach may work for software development start-ups, I cannot see how this should be the practice for government organisations when upturning an industry wide process which deals with sensitive and personal data. Whilst I hope to be proven wrong, there is little indication based on the evidence.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;It is all the more concerning given Auskey is to be turned off at the end of next month - I wonder if there would be an extension...&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Ps. we should have some sympathy for the front line ATO staff who need to deal with the inevitable fallout.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

 &lt;LI&gt;Ensure your device ‘time and date settings’ are correct for your region or set to automatic&lt;/LI&gt;
 &lt;LI&gt;Ensure your client’s device ‘language’ settings are set to English (Australia).&lt;/LI&gt;
&lt;/UL&gt;

&lt;P&gt;Once these settings are confirmed clear the cache and data as follows:&lt;/P&gt;

 &lt;LI&gt;Open phone Settings&lt;/LI&gt;
 &lt;LI&gt;Select Apps&lt;/LI&gt;
 &lt;LI&gt;Select myGovID &amp;gt; Storage &amp;gt; Clear Cache and Data&lt;/LI&gt;

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Why is there no warning to married ladies to &lt;U&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;not&lt;/STRONG&gt; &lt;/U&gt;use your birth certificate &lt;U&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;if their name differs&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/U&gt;.&amp;nbsp; As this will lock up the security system on the MygovID app and you have to uninstall and start again.&amp;nbsp; I have spent hours on setting this up. Finally got in to ATO site using the MygovID, which was prompting me to increase by ID status.&amp;nbsp; So I did. The only option given, was to load up my birth certificate.&amp;nbsp; Could not use Medicare card.&amp;nbsp; Had already used Drivers License and Passport. And whammo did as asked and the app on my phone is locked.&amp;nbsp; ATO advised to uninstall and start again.&amp;nbsp; Why can't it use a marriage certificate?&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

Will the ATO provide manual verification for minor inconsistencies on the existing proof documents ie some form of transitional arrangement to assist tax agents instead of sending them off to another government agency. &lt;P&gt;For security reasons, you shouldn't allow someone else to log in to your myGovID and they shouldn't let you log in to theirs.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;If you want to use myGovID on more than one compatible smart device. Once you've set up your myGovID on one device, you can install the myGovID app and be logged in to it on multiple devices. You'll need to verify your identity documents again with the same email address when installing the myGovID app on another device.&lt;/P&gt;

&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;If it doesn’t, you will need to contact your document providers to see if you can resolve the mismatch in name. For example, you may be able to update your Medicare card to reflect a change in name.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;In the future, the myGovID app will support more complex identity verification. For example, by accepting a change of name document to allow for two last names.&lt;/P&gt;
