Trying to update Associate details (resigning a director/PO and adding a director/PO) on the ABR portal and keep getting this error: The effective date of change is prior to the last given start date. please use a date that is later - an error code is 20001.

These are the first changes I'm updating for this entity, so unsure why I'm getting this error. This is a common error and there's no clear explanation as to how to fix it. Hoping someone can assist or provide guidance that doesn't involve phoning (as I obviously can't update PO over the phone). thanks.

I tried to give you link to un updated form, but my message to you has to be approved by the ATO before it can be posted because its not a link to the ATO website and they take a while to review messages,


Go to the following ATO website page and search for "downloadable Change of registration details (NAT 2943) paper form " then click on "paper form" and a pdf will download on a seperate tab.

I have a feeling that this form is the updated version of the form that you have been searching for because even though its on a not for profit web page on the form itself it states " Do not use this form if your a superannuation fund" .... so any other entity should be able to use it.


Just give the ABR a call first thing on Friday just to confirm with them.
