Hi there,
Since I am the new migrant to Australia and this is the first time I am considering the tax return here, how do I know if I need to pay the Medicare Levy in the period of 2018-2019?
Thanks for your attention.

Hi @viviwing,
It depends on if you are a resident for tax purposes or not. If you are not considered a resident for tax purposes then you qualify for the medicare levy exemption.
We have some information on how to work out your tax residency which should help you determine your residency status.
Let us know if you have any further questions!
Thanks, NateH
