Worried you’re missing part of your refund? Remember, the low and middle income tax offset isn’t a refund on its own – it’s used to offset (or reduce) the amount of tax you pay. The offset amount you may be entitled to is automatically applied and could range between $255-$1080, depending on things like your taxable income and how much tax you’ve paid.

In regards to trading securities, I understand the details of "Shareholding as investment" and "Share trading as business".

My question is, are there any complications to "share trading as business" when using a joint investment account?

Thanks.

Hi @joint-trader,

Thanks for your question.

Whilst there isn't anything that says this is not possible. It would be a  tedious task to keep the records, interest and fees segregated. You would have to be able to calculate the interest etc.. between the investment and the business.

Thanks
