What home office running expenses method can be used with no capital gains tax implications?
Option a) shortcut method - claim a rate of 80 cents per hour
Option b) fixed rate method - 52 cents per hour for heat/cool/light/cleaning/deprecn of office furniture
PLUS - work related portion of actual costs of phone, internet, stationery
PLUS - work related portion of deprecn of laptop
Option c) actual cost method - actual work related portion of all running expenses

Hi @nb1,
The only expenses that can have capital gins tax implications are occupational expenses. This is where you are able to claim part of your mortgage interest payments. This is only available in very limited circumstances such as running your business from home.
None of the methods you mentioned would affect this.
