I have a part-time cleaning job 5 hours a week under my ABN except my daytime job.

I am confused that which income as following should I choose about the part-time ABN cleaning job.

  • You received salary, wages or other income on an income statement/payment summary, Australian Government payments, or First home super saver (FHSS) scheme payment
    • Salary, wages, allowances, tips, bonuses etc. (including lump sum A, B, D or E payments)
    • Australian Government payments such as Newstart, Youth Allowance, Austudy, pensions etc.
    • Employment termination payments (ETP)
    • Foreign employment income (on an income statement/payment summary)
    • Attributed personal services income (on a payment summary)
    • First home super saver (FHSS) scheme
  • You were a sole trader or had business income or losses, partnership or trust distributions (not from a managed fund)
    • Business/Sole trader income or loss
    • Partnerships
    • Trusts
    • Net farm management deposits or repayments

Hi @Jill

An ABN under your personal name qualifies you as a sole-trader for any income and expenses incurred using the ABN.

Hi @Jill

Welcome to our community and your first post.

If your invoicing your client I expect it will be Business Income Item 15. That is reported in the Business Schedule in myTax. The exception may be if this is personal services income however - your paperwork should identify this if so.

Thanks for the query.
