Worried you’re missing part of your refund? Remember, the low and middle income tax offset isn’t a refund on its own – it’s used to offset (or reduce) the amount of tax you pay. The offset amount you may be entitled to is automatically applied and could range between $255-$1080, depending on things like your taxable income and how much tax you’ve paid.

Hi, just wondering if my parenting payment partnered is added under "taxable income" or "government payments and allowances" under "spouses income" on my partners tax return. Also do we not include family tax benefit? (FTB) as we can't find a space to add that. Thanks so much

Hi @Kristy123,

Thank you for contacting us.

The parenting payment partnered will be declared under the Australian Government allowances and payments section. Also, you don't need to pay the tax for the Family Tax Benefit therefore no need to include them on your tax return.

Thanks.
