Worried you’re missing part of your refund? Remember, the low and middle income tax offset isn’t a refund on its own – it’s used to offset (or reduce) the amount of tax you pay. The offset amount you may be entitled to is automatically applied and could range between $255-$1080, depending on things like your taxable income and how much tax you’ve paid.

Hi, what if an individual travels for work and total duration of travel is 9 days, of which day 1 is arrival, day 2 is attending work conferences, day 3 is travel to another country, day 4 & 5 is attending work conferences day 6, 7 & 8 is private and day 9 is travel back home. Can you claim expenses relating to accomodation, meals and taxis and a percentage of the airfares as travel expenses for the work related portion? Thanks.

Hello @C_Bel

You can claim travel expenses you incur as an employee, however the amount you can claim depends on whether you received a travel allowance from your employer.

I recommend having a look at the following:

Hope this helps. Have a great day Smiley Happy
