Hi,

I am an australia citizen who is moving to the UK on a two year visa to work full time for two years as a teacher; with the intention of sponsorship and continuing my work after. I will have no assets in australia except for my bank accunt and old super account.

Will i be classified as an australian or UK resident for tax purposes?

Cheers,

Erin

Hi @Erin_Mitchell,

Welcome to our Community! We have some handy tools and guides to help you work out your residency status and manage your tax and super while you're overseas:

We can't advise whether you'll be a resident of the United Kingdom for income tax purposes - you may find it helpful to contact Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs agency to discuss your situation.

Thanks!

Hi Erin,

Based on the limited facts, you most probably will be classified as UK resident for tax purpose but it is recommended you obtain professional advise.
