I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask, but since it falls under the umbrella of Fringe Tax Benefits...
Who makes the decisions regarding what can and can't be salary sacrificed?
During COVID, restaurants were temporarily allowed to be used as 'Meals and Entertainment' for delivery as well as in-house dining and it was the first time I really got proper use out of my card. But now it's reverted back to in-restaurant dining only. (I don't really understand why. I thought it was about encouraging us to give money to restaurants. Is it actually about forcing people to eat with strangers? Or maybe it *is* about the money, but if people had the option to *not* eat with strangers then the government is afraid restaurants wouldn't bother to hire front-of-house staff or commercial properties beyond kitchen setups? Yeah, probably that last one.) Does anyone know who makes that decision/what department I can direct an appeal to?
