I know this might sound like a silly question but I sent an amendment request letter in writing for my tax return 2 months ago and now after a bit of thinking I noticed that I there was more information that I should have added in the letter but since I have already sent it through is there any way that I can contact ATO about my amendment while its being processed to clarify what I have written in my letter and add more information to the file? This was my first time sending an amendment request by post and I had to get it done as soon as possible but unfortunately did not have enough time to clarify/add more info to my letter.
Hi @christinewh,
In order to process an amendment, we must have it in writing somehow.
If your amendment is still in process, you should wait until it's finalised before submitting another amendment. If you don't, it will delay processing of both returns.
The fastest way to submit your amendment and to have it processed is to submit it through your myGov account.
